Massachusetts States 13O and U14

This years Massachusetts State Tournament featured the newly added 13 Only division. Both 13 and 14s were held out of Lovell Arena. Talent was plentiful at the event with future national champions in attendance.

Lee turned heads with a sleek, efficient offensive game, posting 5G–2A—7 pts in 4 GP (1.75 PPG), including a power‑play goal. He attacked wide with a long, powerful stride, handled in tight and away from his body, and showed deft touch to lift pucks over shoulders from sharp angles. His timing and finish around the net stood out on a deep roster. Lee will join a strong Minuteman Flames U15 team next season.

Defensively he was composed and timing‑sound—reading exits, killing plays early, and turning defense into clean transition. He returns to the Rats for 15‑Only.

He controlled the ice against opponents’ breakouts—pinching lanes with anticipation, angles, and timing—and moved pucks quickly and optimally. When he needed to protect and evade, he showed the skill to do it. Aufiero is a top D prospect in New England, he will play a split season for the Middlesex Islanders before heading to Belmont Hill.

He created off the rush, attacked lanes with pace, and finished with a quick, compact release; he was willing to drive through bodies to the net front. At 13 Welby already has a pro frame. He uses his strength and size to his advantage. His combination of power and skill is promising. Welby is returning back to the Islanders for 2025-2026.
