Jamie Calla, born in 2010, represented the Islanders Hockey Club at the Massachusetts States 13O & U14 tournament and emerged as one of the event’s top scorers. Over four games he scored 5 goals and added 2 assists for 7 points (1.75 points per game) with no penalty minutes. Calla is dynamic. When he has the puck on his stick everyone in the rink knows it. Callas showed an extremely quick handle, making multiple moves before defenders could react. He has a highend top speed and quickness. Calla’s scoring touch and ability to find open ice helped drive the Islanders’ offense, and his strong performance shows why he is considered one of the more productive forwards in this age group.
Calla is expected to return to the Islanders and play for Governs Academy in the fall.
